At the University of Louisville, I am the instructor of record for MUED 533/607 Human Interaction and Professional Growth/Student Teaching Seminar. This course is designed for student teachers who are pursuing their Bachelor of Music Education (BME) and graduate students pursuing their Master of Art in Teaching (MAT). MUED 533/607 is guided by the Teacher Standards of Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) and develops preservice teachers as they complete their student teaching experience. The syllabus for MUED 553/607 can be found on the Sample Syllabi page. In Spring semesters, I guide students who are enrolled in MUED 609 Capstone Seminar to craft and implement their capstone final projects for the Master of Art in Teaching (MAT) program.

At the University of Kentucky, I teach multiple sections of MUS 266: Music in Elementary Grades, a course for elementary general and special education majors. Students in this course explore basic elements of music, the importance of music curriculum, arts integration, and elementary music education teaching methods. Below is a sample syllabus for this course. Designed for elementary and special education majors, this course will introduce the student to the basic elements of music, the importance of music in the curriculum, the methods/materials appropriate for music teaching in the elementary and special education classroom, and how to integrate music into other subject areas.
